Tewodros Kassahun Germamo (born July 14, 1976), known as Teddy Afro, is a leading Ethiopian singer-songwriter celebrated for his revolutionary music and political commentary. He is considered one of Ethiopia's most influential artists and has greatly impacted the music industry and inspired many young musicians.

Life and Career 1976–2001: Early Years Tewodros Kassahun Germamo, born on July 14, 1976, in Addis Ababa, is the son of singer Kassahun Germamo and dancer Tilaye Arage.
2001–2007: Abugida, Teddy, and Yasteseryal Teddy Afro debuted in 2001 with Abugida. His 2005 album Yasteseryal became notable for its controversial hit that criticized government corruption and faced media bans, yet sold over a million copies.

2012–2017: Tikur Sew and Ethiopia
In 2012, he released Tikur Sew, a tribute to Emperor Menelik II, followed by Ethiopia in 2017, which topped the Billboard World Albums chart with over 600,000 copies sold.

2020–Present: "Demo Be Abay" And Recent Projects
Teddy's February 2020 Concert In Addis Ababa Set A Record For Attendance. His 2020 Song "Demo Be Abay" Critiques Egyptian Claims Over The Nile, While "Armash" (2021) And "Na'at" (2022) Address Ongoing Conflicts And Government Issues In Ethiopia.
